Frequently asked questions
Everything students, leavers committees and school coordinators ask about designing and ordering custom year 12 jerseys, leavers jackets and hoodies. Can't find your answer? Ask us in your free mockup request.
Designing your apparel
Where does the nickname go on a leavers jersey?+
The nickname sits centred across the shoulder blades, above the printed number. It's the most-photographed part of the jersey, so we lay it out to be legible from the back row of a group photo.
How long can a nickname be?+
We recommend 12 characters or fewer so it sits proportionally above the number. Longer nicknames still print — they just render smaller to fit inside the print area.
Can the school veto a nickname?+
Most schools review the final nickname list before print. If a nickname gets knocked back, the student can pick a replacement without extra cost right up until production locks.
Can we upload our school crest or logo?+
Yes. Send us your crest or logo (any format — PNG, SVG, JPG, even a phone photo of the badge) when you request your mockup and our designers will re-draw it print-ready if needed.
What can we personalise on the back?+
Every student gets their name or nickname and a number printed at no extra cost. Above that we can add year, school name, or a group tagline — all included in the base price.
Do we use a kit builder or send you a brief?+
Either. Use our online kit builder to sketch out colours and layout yourself, or just tell us your school colours and vibe in the free-mockup form and our designers will build the first draft for you.
How do we pick colours?+
Start with your school colours as the base, then pick one accent — most designs use two or three colours max. Browse our design gallery for combinations that have worked well for other schools.
How many design revisions do we get before locking in?+
Two to three rounds of revisions are included before you lock in the artwork. Most committees land the final design in round two — the first mockup is usually 80% there.
Leavers jackets
What jacket styles do you offer?+
Varsity jackets (premium brushed fleece body with contrast wool-blend sleeves, ribbed cuffs and hem), bomber-style jackets, and fleece-lined puffer options for colder states. Every style is fully customisable in your school colours.
What can we customise on a leavers jacket?+
Body and sleeve colours, contrast stripes on cuffs/hem/collar, embroidered school crest, chenille lettering (school name or year), sleeve patches, individual name or nickname embroidery, and inside-lining colour. Piping and pocket trims are optional.
Is embroidery or a printed patch more durable?+
Embroidery and chenille lettering are stitched into the fabric and outlast the garment — they won't crack, peel or fade through washing. That's why we use embroidery for crests and names on varsity jackets rather than heat-transfer prints.
Are the jackets warm and are they waterproof?+
Varsity and fleece-lined styles are warm enough for winter mornings across every Australian state. They're water-resistant (light rain is fine) but not fully waterproof — for wet-weather use we recommend the puffer option.
Do you offer bulk or group discounts on jackets?+
Yes. Per-unit pricing drops as your order quantity increases — most year groups hit the best price band at 30+ units. Your free mockup quote includes tiered pricing so the committee can see the break points.
What if a student needs a size outside 3XS–5XL?+
Get in touch — we can source or custom-make jackets outside the standard size range so no student misses out. There may be a small surcharge and extra lead time.
How does the jacket sizing compare to retail brands?+
Our varsity jackets fit true to standard Australian mens/kids sizing — similar to a Champion or Russell Athletic varsity fit. Sample sizing kits are the safest way to confirm fit across a large group.
How do we collect sizes from every student?+
We provide a printed size chart plus a sample sizing kit for the committee to circulate. Most schools run a lunchtime try-on session, then submit the final size list to us in one spreadsheet.
How are jackets distributed once they arrive?+
We ship the full order to one address — usually the school or the committee coordinator — with each jacket individually bagged and labelled by student name for easy hand-out.
What happens if a jacket arrives with a defect?+
Every jacket is quality-checked before dispatch. If anything slips through — wrong name, stitching fault, sizing error on our end — we remake and re-ship it at no cost.
Ordering & timelines
How long does production take?+
Allow 6–8 weeks from artwork approval for production and tracked delivery anywhere in Australia. We recommend submitting your free mockup request 10–12 weeks before you need the gear in-hand.
When do nicknames need to be locked in?+
About 4 weeks before graduation — after mockup approval, before we start printing. Use our timeline calculator to back-plan from your target date.
What's the minimum order?+
10 units is our minimum. Below 10 we can still help — just give us a call and we'll work something out.
Can we order samples?+
Yes. We offer sample sizing kits for larger orders so every student gets the right fit before the group order is placed.
What if we're under 10 weeks out?+
Get in touch straight away — we can often expedite artwork and production, but the tighter the deadline the fewer revision rounds and shipping buffer you'll have. Under 6 weeks we can't guarantee pre-graduation delivery.
When should we order for end of year?+
Lock in your order by August at the latest for guaranteed pre-graduation delivery. October/November orders will likely miss graduation.
How do we get a quote?+
Request a free mockup and we'll send through indicative pricing tailored to your school's quantity, product mix and customisation — usually back within 48 hours.
What are the payment terms?+
50% deposit on order approval, 50% before dispatch. School purchase orders are accepted, and we can invoice the school's finance department directly.
Products & pricing
What's the difference between a jersey, jacket and hoodie?+
Jerseys are printed premium interlock — the classic year 12 back-of-jersey nickname look. Varsity jackets are premium brushed fleece with embroidered school crest and chenille lettering — a keepsake garment. Hoodies are 320 GSM brushed fleece — the everyday-wear option many schools order alongside jerseys.
Are names and numbers included?+
Yes — every student's name or nickname plus a number is included in the base price on jerseys. No hidden per-name fees.
Can we mix products in one order?+
Absolutely. Many year groups order jerseys for everyone plus varsity jackets for the leavers committee, or hoodies as a second garment for colder states.
What fabric weights are available?+
Our premium long-wear jersey fabric comes in three weights — 220 GSM, 300 GSM and 370 GSM. 370 GSM is the most popular for year 12 jerseys because it holds shape and prints crisply.
How does sizing work?+
Full size chart from 3XS to 5XL in Mens and Kids sizes. We provide a printed size chart and offer sample sizing kits for larger orders.
Can we re-order later if a student misses out?+
Yes — your artwork is on file. Re-orders are quick, though smaller quantities cost more per unit than the original bulk order.
